Ceiling Fan
Installation.

New fan installs, replacement fans, and the harder job: wiring a fan into a room that was never wired for one.

Fans

Three Types Of Fan Jobs. We Do All Three.

Ceiling fan jobs split into three categories. Simple swap: you've got a fan already, you bought a new one, take the old one down and put the new one up. Replace with new switch: same swap but with a wall control upgrade. Full new install: there's nothing in the ceiling yet, no box, no wire, no switch. Jay has to cut a hole, run wire down the wall, install a brace box rated for fan support, and install the switch.

That third one is where Jay earns his keep. The day-of work involves cutting drywall, fishing wire through the wall, and patching anything that needs patching. Most homeowners don't realize what's involved until they try to DIY it. Jay does this job all the time.

He's also installed multiple fans on the same call where the customer wanted them in three or four rooms at once. That's a different price than a single install.

Things People Ask About This Service

Swapping a fan with an existing fan-rated box is straightforward and quick. Call Jay with the specifics and he'll quote you. Pricing depends on the height of the ceiling, the model of fan, and any switch work you want done at the same time.

Yes. That's a bigger job because Jay has to cut a hole, install a brace and fan-rated box, run wire from a power source to the ceiling, and install a wall switch. But it's a job he does often.

Yes. Standard light fixture boxes are not rated for the weight and movement of a ceiling fan. Jay always installs a UL-listed fan-rated box for any fan install. This is a code requirement, not optional.

Yes. If you've got three or four rooms that need fans, getting them all done on the same call is more efficient and cheaper per fan than separate visits.

Jay has installed fans in vaulted ceilings and two-story foyers. He brings the right ladders. Tall installs cost more because they take longer.
